Welcome to Salle Holyrood Fencing Club!
Salle Holyrood offers the best fencing coaching in the best environment giving our fencers every opportunity to achieve their potential and supporting them as they progress in the sport. From complete novice to senior international, if you would like to join us please get in touch or just drop in at the club.
Our aim is to provide our members and guests with training that is tailored to their needs and which will help them to improve and enjoy the sport at all levels.
We train 3 evenings a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) at Holy Rood High School in Edinburgh. We also run training camps during school holidays and support our fencers at competitions. Salle Holyrood - creating tomorrow's champions today!
Salle Holyrood clean sweep of under 10s at YDS 5 at Strathallan
Salle Holyrood fencers took all 4 podium places in the under 10 foil at Youth Development Series 5 at Strathallan School on Saturday. Angus Bradie claimed his fourth win in the series with Murray Caughey finishing second. Nathan Turino and Angus Crawford completed the all Salle Holyrood podium in the 3rd and 4th. Thomas Ritch finished 6th and will be looking forward to next season in the same age group. Khena Dungu was 4th in the under 12 girls. Well done all!
Peter Rennie takes silver and Oskar Leimkuhler grabs the bronze in the under 16 boys foil on Sunday at YDS 5 at Strathallan. Jamie Heywood finished 3rd in the under 14 boys foil and Callum Turino was 4th in the under 12 boys foil. An excellent haul of medals!
Angus Bradie wins LPJS under 11 foil in Durham
Angus Bradie and Angus Crawford take Gold and Bronze at the Leon Paul Junior Series under 11 Boys Foil in Durham. Great results!

Youth Development Series 4 - Aberdeen
Salle Holyrood members made the trip north for the 4th round of the Youth Development Series in Aberdeen on the 3rd and 4th March and came back with a stack of medals. Gold for Angus Bradie in the under 10 foil plus silver for Murray Caughey and 4th place for Angus Crawford got the weekend off to a great start and Khena Dungu took bronze in the under 12 girls foil. Sunday produced silver for Jamie Heywood in the under 14 boys foil and Peter Rennie in the under 16 boys foil plus 4th for Comrie Saville-Ferguson also in the under 16s.

Keith takes silver at British Championships
Keith narrowly missed out on retaining his British men's foil title at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on Sunday. With all the fencers in the top 10 of the British rankings competing, Keith sailed through to the final where he faced Husayn Rosowsky, recent winner of the Leon Paul Cup satellite event and a Sheffield local. The fight was level at 5-5 after the first 3 minutes but Husayn scored a run of hits in the second period to open up a 5 hit gap. Keith fought back to 13-12 but Husayn was on top form and eventually prevailed 15-12. Well done Keith on a brave defence of your title. Win it again next year!

Youth Development Series Round 2 - Glasgow
Another very successful Youth Development Series competition for Salle Holyrood's young fencers , this time in Glasgow. Pictured above, 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Angus B, Murray C and Nathan T in the under 10 foil. Top effort!
